Immersive 4-Week Teacher Training FAQ
What is the breakdown of the 518 total hours in the Immersive Program?
The 518-hour total comprises 148 in-studio face-to-face contact hours across 4 weeks (Anatomy: 43h, Mat: 35h, Reformer: 70h), plus 120 practice teaching hours, 120 observation hours, and 130 self-practice hours. This comprehensive volume ensures you develop genuine mastery and professional teaching confidence.
What is the daily schedule during the 4 weeks in Bali?
Training takes place at our Sunset Pilates Legian studio. Week 1 (Anatomy) runs Sunday 09:00–17:00 and Monday–Friday 13:00–20:00. Weeks 2, 3, and 4 (Mat & Reformer) run Monday through Friday from 13:00 to 20:00 (WITA). Weekends in weeks 2-4 are free for rest, self-practice, and exploring Bali.
Can I complete my practice teaching and observation hours outside of Bali?
Yes! Your 4 weeks in Bali complete 100% of your in-person lecture and contact hours. Practice teaching and observation hours can be completed either at Sunset Pilates studios in Bali or at an approved Pilates studio in your home country. At least 50% of observation hours must be conducted in-person, with the remainder eligible via approved recorded master sessions.
How does the final exam work and when do I get certified?
Upon concluding your 4 weeks in Bali, you receive a Letter of Attendance confirming completion of 148 contact hours. Once your required practice, observation, and self-practice hours are logged, you sit for your practical teaching exam (a 50-minute teaching demonstration with scenario defense). Exams can be completed in-person in Bali or via high-definition video submission. Upon passing, your official Sunset Pilates Academy Certified Teacher Diploma is issued.
What textbooks and equipment do I need to bring?
Students must bring a laptop or tablet for viewing digital lecture slides and coursework. Two required textbooks should be acquired prior to start: 'Functional Anatomy of the Pilates Core' by Evan Osar & Marylee Bussard, and 'Pilates, 3rd Edition' by Rael Isacowitz. All exercise manuals and video libraries are provided digitally.
